SUPER CLEAN PDR REPAIR ON A FRONT FENDER | Paintless Dent Removal Uk 🇬🇧|By Dent-Remover
wow take a look at this front wing that's a nasty
kink on the body line but i'm going to show you how i repair it with a paintless dent removal
method without the need to fill or paint the panel okay let's take a look at
this dent in a bit more detail look at that you can see how the
light's reflecting through the crease okay so that is quite a sharp crease going right
through the factory body line and these are quite defined body lines so it's going to take a little
bit of effort to get this dent out so when i'm estimating this to give a customer a price we need
to first measure it so get the measuring stick pop it on there the inspection board as
well so we can get a really good idea okay so i'd say that's about 140mm because
we need to go a little bit higher because we've got a crowned area there.
So as well
this is a crease dent, so it's a crease dent sorry about the noise in the background
someone's trying to be a dent man… it's 140 mil okay it's a body line dent okay so there's a slight up charge because there's
a body line involved, and it's metal (Steel) so that's good okay stripping fit we need to get
access to the back of this dent to push it out so i need to take the arch liner out okay take
the full thing out it's just easier than pulling a little bit out and then trying to get the bar
in there so we've got R&I we've got arch liner got right in like a doctor! okay so that's it i'm
gonna stick all this into mtrx software that'll give me a price and then i can give the customer
the estimate and then we can go from there so for this repair i'm going to be using my line
board i will have the fog board on there as well but it's just easier for me to
repair this dent using the lines there you go that's the lines pop
it onto the headlight like that okay let's get the bars out because the dent is on an open access area so
there's not a great deal of leverage i need to create leverage so using the tyre i'm gonna
use this which is a moose knuckle really strong pop that onto the tire like that so i've got
my leverage point next i need to pick a bar so i'm gonna use the old faithful this is the
ultra dent tools double bend screw tip bar and then i need a screw tip, so i have got a big
range of screw tips but i'm going to be using this one it's a plastic tip okay plastic
soft tip screw it out onto the end of the bar pop it through the leverage device and there
you go straight onto the dent i've got really good leverage with all this all this bar so the
next thing i need to do i need to warm up the area with a heat gun this will make the metal
a lot more malleable and easier to work with okay let's get the bar out straight in there
but what i'm gonna do is i'm just gonna hold the bottom of the wing there and i'm gonna go really
gentle there you go really gentle because it's just popped out so let's have a look with
the inspection with the uh light board there you go so with pretty much no
pressure at all it's just eased out but we have got a sharp crease at the top there
and then the bottom part is uh looking a lot less so there's quite a bit of resistance there
because we've got these crowned areas where the lines go tight from the reflection
so i'll need to tap them down with a cherry cap and this will release some of the pressure back in again with the bar so i'm going to work my
work at the top now it's just trial and error just seeing what's moving and then i can repair it
from there so now i've tapped down those crowns the metals moving a bit easier we don't want
to push the dent out really quickly because you might crack the paint in the
center of where the crease is and also you might bruise the paintwork and it'll
look a lot darker so we're trying to avoid that there we go it's looking really
nice or it's getting better this crease is coming out nice now but
you can see the um the line in the lacquer so once the dent is totally
up i can give it a little um a little nib off with the 2000 paper and
then polish it up and that line will be gone okay i'm happy with how the top part is going so i
need to tackle the body line area now i was going to use the the ultra bar on there and give it some
leverage and pull it out but i don't think that's such a good idea because there's a lot of force
on this flimsy wing and it's likely to just buckle and if it buckles it's going to make a mess so
i'm going to use the fender pliers on there that's the best tool for the job i can direct the push
right onto the body line and ease the dent out so this this area is really strong and it doesn't look much on a video
but even using those edge pliers… fender pliers sorry and it's really difficult to
lift this out without distorting the outer edges so i just moved the camera out the way the gopro
that was here and just moved out away because i had to get really close to see the center of
the dent on the body line and it looked like it was going to crack but fortunately with a lot
of heat it's not cracked so i'll take you back in for a closer look and then i think i'm going
to change from these back onto the ultra bar so now that i've lifted up the dent right on that
body line edge i just need to pull this area and below the body line up so i'm going to take
off the bullet tip and go back on with the the plastic SOFT tip and because it'll move a lot more
metal without them putting any dot marks in there there you go nice and easy nice and
carefully not a great deal of pressure back in again with the same tip okay looking really well on there
look it's been repairing this area and then we've got the top there there look the crown there and there so what i'm gonna
do now is i'm gonna change repair direction and work from this way so now i've changed sides i
get a different perspective of the dent i'm fairly happy with how it's going so far the body line
dent has come out nice and underneath and it's starting to shape up nicely as well but i need to
start looking at this area so i'm going to change to a sharper tip on the bar pull out these areas
either side and then put my board back a little bit further and then i can tap down the crowns
and then it should be home straight from there okay so i'm using the sharp tip
going back onto the gator v-tip now and because i don't need to put a
lot of pressure to pull the dent out just working around where the the
imprint on the lacquer is really lightly lifting it up and then in a second i'll
use a vip tip knock down like that one just to tap those micro highs down and then
once i've done that i'll give it a look with the inspection board and then i need to
flat down the lacquer to get rid of this line and then it should be about done okay onto the tapping those micro highs down
make sure that the end of the knockdown's clean get rid of that okay let's take a a look at it
just before I flat the lacquer there's the line so from the top there
just put my marker on there that's the top it goes all the way down there to the end
and then just a little bit further down okay there's a bit of a ripple at the bottom there but i'm gonna nib the dip the
lacquer down polish it back up that'll get rid of that faint
line and then can finish it off and what i'm going to be using is a
tolecut so this one is a 2000 grit like that so you just peel one off it's sticky back so it sticks to your finger
and then where you need to be flattening it real nice really really light flat and then just a tiny bit of polish
don't need a lot and give it a whiz up okay so that's the polish wiped off and
immediately you can see the difference cut that so there's a little bit of work involved just tap the line down a little bit and then
we'll have a look at the finished results that's looking spot on go from either side spot on let's take a look okay so the conclusion to this
repair it started off really well but then it did lock up right in the crease
so that needed to be tapped out and then brought up carefully but i'm really happy with the
results well they're flawless so i'm really happy and and that's it for now so if you did
enjoy the video be great to get a thumbs up and don't forget to smash that subscribe button
that's it for me thanks very much take care
